Oriental Cockroach

Oriental Cockroaches are somewhat unique in the region north of Niagara as these roaches readily travel outdoors in the warmer months and need not rely on human activity for spreading and infesting structures. This large one to one and a half inch jet black roach looks like a beetle to the untrained eye and is often mistaken as one given its biology and anatomy. The Oriental Cockroach usually infests lower levels and underground areas of buildings and landscape, further confusing it with beetles. These roaches have small tarsal pads making them a poor climber. Appearing in lesser numbers than other roaches, the Oriental Cockroach usually makes its visual impact on size and colour alone.

Gels have not been proven as effective with the Oriental Cockroach. Instead, crack and crevice and perimeter residual applications are preferred. Call our offices for identification and treatment information 24/7.
